eCommerce Comparison Shopping Web Engine

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

This was a really interesting project. It basically involved fetching and storing in a database a massive product catalog using Web Services. This project required consuming a number of Web Services APIs, and intuitive interface designs to support product details drill down, product comparison and searching. The catalog hosted 1000′s of products and it was very challenging making the website to present an almost-live version of the web service’s catalog.

Here are a couple of key requirements for the project:

  1. Sphnix full-text searching with Ajax UI
  2. Integrated Web Services APIs from find-services.co.uk
  3. Dynamic RSS  Feeds for various product listings
  4. Price History Tracking mechanism for the Web Service Products
  5. Price Drop Alert System
  6. Side-By-Side Product Comparison
  7. Product Detail Drill-Down (for faster product searches per user specifications)

Client’s Feedback
Extremely skilled. Very affordable. The project included many technically challenging aspects – such as database indexing, interaction with different APIs, AJAX functionality etc. The work has been of the highest standard of any provider I have worked with on Elance before. Highly recommended.

Music Discovery Web Application

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

The client wanted to breath life into his innovative idea of a music sampling website. In this application,  musicians or studios would up load musical clips and registered users would listen to and rate tracks. On the back end, the application provides a bundle of statistical information concerning interest by demographics.

Client Response?
“Great work. Very responsive and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend to anyone.”

FreshBook Webstore Integration

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

This project involved integrating the client’s webstore with the FreshBooks online invoicing system.

Specs
The webstore has only one set of order confirmations and thank you notes. I’d like for this to all be PAYMENT METHOD AND CATEGORY specific. For example, I sell software at Jeff-Net.Com. Those confirmations should say “Order received; go to this page to download… etc”. At my website RptToRdl.Com, I sell credits for report conversions. The confirmations for those orders should say “We will process your order and contact you with upload instructions… etc.”. I’d like to be able to modify the email subject lines for each category, too.

Client’s Feedback
“Elton is great. This is my 2nd project with him, and I’ll be hiring him again and again for my PHP mods!”

WindowCleaner Pro

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

I was contacted my this UK Client to complete the development of what I considered the most critical component of their application – a visual scheduling grid. There were two main challenges surrounding this project.  First, the delivery timeline was absolutely short. Secondly, the grid development required numerous customization of the default class controls available in C# to connect the grid to a database and visually represent “scheduling urgency”.

I delivered on the project. The client was satisfied. The product went commercial .

Client Feedback
“We really did appreciate doing business with you. We understood your deadline and your support was crucial in achieving the desired goals; literally taking things over at the final stages. That was great teamwork. We look forward to many more interactions.
